Orchid Room @ Turf Club

So Alfred and I got some invites to the 'Orchid Room' at Turf Club.

Of course, we were a little apprehensive about the invitation at first. Old men and gambling addicts were on our minds, but it's still cool to try something new.

It was fun! The Orchid Room is actually a corporate guest area so people like us won't normally get to use it. But according to some of the ushers there, the ground floor is where the real excitement lies at. People will be shouting like crazy and the thumping of the horses' hoofs towards the finishing line.

I spent about $21 in bets; spread out over the 9 races. The bets range from $2 to $10. Actually, the betting is just to add some excitement to the racing. It's very hard to predict which horse will win. And because there's a 20 minutes waiting time between races, buying a bet is a good way to kill time. NEVER EVER BET WITH THE INTENTION TO MAKE A FORTUNE. You'll probably spoil your night. Spending money and feeling shitty is a silly thing to do.

The racing horses are really fighting fit beasts. I feel like getting one as a pet. Sadly, it's too big to fit in a HDB flat, and 'inferentially' illegal as well. Not forgetting that they're MAGNIFICENTLY BEAUTIFUL.

A word of advice. If you're either a problem gambler or those who're vehemently against gambling such that the thought of placing a bet is nauseating, forget about going to the turf club. Otherwise, go check it out!
