oh!i have been revocated from an infantry section leader to a training co-ord spec as a result of my temp downgrade!was quite elated when my bud derrick messaged me the news this morning...chances are i will get out of delta coy now...but then again...must keep my fingers crossed first lah...well wadever the case is...chances are i will go for my knee op after my race in november so should be resting at home then...sometimes i feel like i'm quite slack too...but then again...hey...you can't help but feel shitty when the the pple who make the decisions in view of their rank superiority and not their capabilities try to screw around with you...the army should seriously revise their choice of regulars who sign on and get rid of men who take the goverment's money and contribute nuts relatively...but then its understandable how these pple fluke their way through their careers all their lives...cuz they are the masters of the wayang show...however i have confidence that these change will come about in the future(perhaps not too near but still coming)as more qualified pple are choosing to sign on(i think)...
Just got back not too long ago from my safsa training camp at aloha changi resort!we all had a good time there in terms of training and fun...had a bbq on sunday night and of cuz having all guys the outcome is quite predictable...i shall list below wad a typical night of bbq will be with all guys around
1)war cry - the message that the bbq is starting is passed around
2)manpower - pleas to help start the fire will be spread
3)half of the guys will ignore these pleas and continue their own activities like watching tv, the other half will gather round the bbq pit
4a)of those around the pit, 3-4 pple will be actively trying to start the fire with one lao jiao(old bird) of much bbq experience orchestrating the process, while the rest linger around and stare at the fire(which is wad we call eye-power).well...ok...a few more will occasionally hold a piece of charcoal and attempt to throw it in...shouts of "wah...hen shao!" (wah!very hot!)" can be heard...
4b)guys like fire starters...the more the merrier...we will place them all over the shop as the charcoal we use is specially imported from greenland and as such is extremely difficult to burn(RIGHT...)
4c)the same goes for the charcoal too...pile after pile of it will be thrown into the pit to prepare for the mass annihilation of the poor chicken wings, sotong balls and crab sticks.
5)a few dedicated cooks will stand their ground beside the pit to do their thing...again,half of them will cook and eat their food on the spot while the others will cook and kindly offer the food to anyone who looks pitifully hungry enough...scavangers swarm the pit and are mildly successful at koping food amidst the calls of "ah!you watch tv now you want to eat!you good!"
6)for the first 1-1 1/2 hours, the cooked food will be gobbled up while the desperate ones will microwave their food and continue watching tv...even more desperate ones will resort to munching on twisties and potato chips...
7)oh...and i forgot to mention...there will be 1 or 2 butter/bbq sauce boys who are tasked to bua the food on the pit with the sinful stuff...
8)ok...final point...nearing the 2nd hour...all will be back in the hall watching tv again while a few with the "cannot waste food" mentality will continue bbqing the remaining food which ultimately will be thrown away anyway...which reminds me...on the second bbq night...there was this super thin young cat which was mewing and mewing at those of us still remaning at the bbq pitt...man...damn pitiful...was damn cute the way if attacked the chicken bits...poor bugger...
Had a super long run on monday morning...and of course my dear knee started to hurt quite badly again...but glad i still completed with the team the whole run w/o lagging behind lah...sometimes i just wished my knee prob would go away then i wun be faced with the dilemna of choosing between running or not aggravating it...its not a good feeling...sianz...
Post bbq of second night...we played indian poker with the forfeit being truth or dare which eventually turned into dare only the whole way...weihao kerna the 1st time lah...heng he got to say truth...which was a freaking boring question among guys lah...bah...hahaha......but then he kerna again.......and this time he had to do a dare...wahahahahahaha.....i shan't say wad he was made to do lah...just that when you play these type of games with an all guys team from the army...you just get a terrific gay party lah...it was hilarious...ultimate...
one thing i learnt from this traning camp too was how tolerant women must be to be able to tahan their husbands' snoring EVERY SINGLE NIGHT...cuz it was quite jialat when you squeeze 4 guys in 2 combined beds!!!HAHAHA!!!
k k k...i'm getting quite sleepy here typing all these ramblings...shall stop here lah...time to go find something to eat...heh
