I'm sick and tired of pple trying to tell me that China is going to be the next damn world power.. how can you compare toyota to bmw? yah toyota has huge sales.. it is cheap.. it's economical.. still.. would you buy a bmw or toyota had you the money with no financial woes?

I dun like China's way of dealing with human rights and animals and whatsoever.. no I'm not just talking about tibet.. I'm talking about the villagers who get poisoned over toxic dumping into the rivers.. I'm talking about how China treats animals with no sense of respect at all.. you can tell me cows get slaughtered in other countries too.. I dun think you can compare skinning a dog alive with killing a cow.. just my personal preference.. of course billions of pple would think it's perfectly fine.. what with the nationalistic huge population from China.. though sometimes numbers is not everything.. look at how israel held it's ground against a gang bang from neighbouring countries.. I'm not kidding.. there was once when everyone at it's borders threw a skirmish at the lil country..

now dun come and tell me I dun know my roots and that I'm a Chinese.. Chinese means race.. it also means China citizen.. but it's 2 DIFFERENT things.. it's like Jew.. israelis are called jews.. other than the arab populace within it.. children born to Jews elsewhere are called Jews.. pple who convert to their religion are called jews also.. dun tell me if China had buddhism or taoism tied to it's name then if an Indian converts we call him a chinese too?

anyway.. I'm Chinese.. the only country I'm proud of is Singapore.. if China is going to fight a war.. I dun really give a shit.. I dun picture myself running to China and crying out "tong zhi men! rang wo men hua ren crush the foreign devils!"

culture? I dun really see the point in being paranoid if I lose the pure chinese tradition within myself.. what matters to me is local culture.. Laksa, Rojak, Mee Siam(mai hum if you like), Prata, Fish and Chips..

anyway.. the only underlying reason why I feel we are patriotic to our countries is cuz it has given us alot to lead our current lives.. so basically.. it's for selfish reasons.. had I been born in north america, I would feel patriotic to that country too.. there must be something really wrong with you if you spent your first 2o years in the states and you suddenly felt like you could give your life defending china..

if you still argue I should not lose my China roots.. then I suggest we all go start reading up about the monkeys.. then we can pat the caucasian on his back and bellow " hey dude! we're proud to be from monkey land!".. cuz thats what earth must have been called if the monkeys were practising politics then..
